There are several beaches in Mumbai ie Chowpatti (Girgaum), Chowpatti Dadar, Juhu Beach, Versova Beach, Madh Island, Aksa Beach, Manori Beach, Marve Beach and Gorai Beach. The beach is near Girgaum Chowpatty and remains full especially during Ganesh Puja. Tourists can observe countless idols of Ganesha get immersed in the sea as well as a delicious fast food ranging from panipuri, etc bhelpuri Juhu Beach, north of Mumbai, is quite famous though contaminated. Weekends get too crowded, but weekdays are peaceful and the beach is also famous for street food. The beach is not very fun to swim, but the kids like to play cricket, basketball, volleyball, etc Madh Island Beach is famous as a secluded and quiet unlike other beaches in Mumbai. Tourists enjoy visiting the famous temple known Harbadevi, situated on a hill, it can also have a splendid view of the sea. The island also boasts the famous church of San Buenaventura, believed to be a 16th century Portuguese church. Other beaches of Mumbai's Aksa beach is crowded by many tourists for its cleanliness, peace and serenity. Visitors love the variety of shells lying on the beach, although swimming is considered unsafe. Gorai Beach also has numerous churches and a quiet charm.
